1. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to students currently enrolled in any recognized local or international Higher Education Institution (HEI).

  • Entries may be submitted individually or in groups, with a maximum of TWO (2) student members per group. Each group may be guided by a supervising lecturer.

  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one (1) entry per category.

2. Originality of Work

  • All submitted works must be original and entirely created and produced by the participants.

  • The work must not have previously won any competition.

  • Any form of plagiarism, imitation, or unauthorized use of materials will result in immediate disqualification.

  • Participants shall bear full responsibility for any claims of copyright infringement by third parties.

3. Additional Requirements

  • All submissions must adhere to the official theme:
    “Digitizing Heritage, Animating Johor’s Identity.”

  • Entries may take the form of a Public Service Announcement (PSA), short film, short documentary, or other forms of creative visual storytelling that align with the competition objectives.

  • The work must clearly incorporate elements of Johor’s heritage through narrative, visual design, or creative concept, and should support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

4. Language

  • The permitted languages are Bahasa Melayu or English.

  • Subtitles are mandatory for all video-based submissions.

5. Submission Requirements

Each submission must include:

  • An abstract (maximum 300 words)

  • A statement of concept and creative rationale

  • Technical description (pipeline, software, or technologies used)

  • A concise pitch deck (5–8 slides, submitted in PDF format)

  • All materials must be submitted via the official competition portal or designated Google Form before the submission deadline.

6. Copyright and Usage Rights

  • The copyright of the submitted work shall remain with the participants.

  • Participants grant the organizer the right to use the work for non-commercial purposes including promotion, documentation, exhibition, education, and official reporting.

  • Any commercial use shall require a separate agreement.

  • Participants must obtain written permission for the use of any third-party music, images, or assets.

7. Evaluation and Results

All submissions shall be evaluated by a panel of judges appointed by the organizer.

  • Evaluation criteria include:

    • Innovation

    • Technical Quality

    • Storytelling

    • Impact and Usability

    • Presentation

  • The decision of the judging panel shall be final.

8. Code of Conduct and Integrity

  • Participants must adhere to professional ethics throughout the competition.

  • Content containing sensitive elements related to race, religion, or royalty (3R issues), discrimination, incitement, or violations of Malaysian law is strictly prohibited.

  • The organizer reserves the right to reject any submission that does not comply with the guidelines.

  • Participants may withdraw in writing prior to the submission deadline. Participation fees are non-refundable.

  • The organizer reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition due to unforeseen circumstances.

9. Withdrawal and Cancellation

  • The organizer shall not be held responsible for any loss of files or technical issues during the submission process.

  • Participants are responsible for ensuring that all submitted files are free from viruses and digital corruption.

10. Liability

  • Participants’ personal data will be used solely for competition management purposes and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent.
